The owners of SpiceKlub have come up with another fantastic Vegetarian restaurant in town called Quattro with Italian and Mexican cuisine. I learnt about them through social media and after reading mixed reviews decided to take my family for a weekend lunch . I had reserved a table over the phone and reached there by 12.30pm, in order to get a table for 5. As soon as we arrived they informed us that each meal takes about 20-25 minutes and hence we ordered everything together. The good thing they had kept a note that says your meal will take about 20 minutes so it feels good to be informed well in advance and you patiently wait for the delicious dishes.
It’s a casual dining place with nice ambiance and special attention is given to kids. I love the joints where kids are made comfortable as I can take “Nirvaan” along with me. We started our afternoon with Spice Watermelon Cooler, Mango Basil Smoothie and Guava Smoothie. We loved the first 2 but none of us liked the Gauva smoothie, the taste just did not go well with our taste buds. Watermelon cooler was something really different and I really enjoyed it personally however it was too spicy for my husband. Soon arrived the Nachos Grande and it was amazing. By the way we totally forgot to order anything Italian so have to go back to Quattro once. I did not even glance at the Italian dishes in menu and ordered lot of Mexican food. Taquito was something really interesting, it was filled with salsa, kidney beans topped with avocado ice cream. Good presentation and we quite liked it. Stuffed Mushroom, Quesadillas and Tortilla Chips all was good. Apple Basil Cooler and Berry Mojito are another 2 good drinks.
For desserts ,we ordered HazelNut Mousee and Tres Leches . Tres Leches is a must have…it’s a classic Mexican cake served in deconstructed form. I preferred it over the other desserts. Got a surprise dessert for my sister and brother in law as it was there wedding anniversary.
Honestly I have only good things to say about the food and service. It was apt and the place is reasonable on the wallet considering the molecular gastronomy restaurants for fine dining are high on cost for a normal lunch or dinner.
A meal for two on an average would cost around AED 200-250 with all 3 courses and a drink for each. Definitely recommended by JWD!
