Hello Friends,
I want to thank all of you for wishing me on my Birthday. You all have been very kind and I am humbled by the love showered upon me.
This time I planned my special day to be a staycation at the beautiful Palace Downtown Dubai. It is by far one of my favorite properties in Dubai. The Palace Downtown Dubai is situated on the Old Town Island in Burj Khalifa Lake and faces the iconic Burj Khalifa. The hotel is located in close proximity to The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations. It’s centrally located and features some great restaurants, spa and spectacular views. All what you need for a lovely staycation!!!
Stay
I was staying with my family (3 adults and one kid) and hence we chose the Palace Suite. It’s a luxurious suite with sophisticated Arabian ambience. The spacious bedroom is warm and inviting. The separate living room is elegantly furnished and comes with an attached guest bathroom. It has 2 balconies seperately for bed and living room. The view of The Dubai Fountain /Lake view takes your breath away.We loved it. The package was inclusive of an amazing buffet breakfast at “Ewaan” (all day dining restaurant).
Pool
Post check- in, we spent our evening by the pool side. While you swim, enjoy some stunning views of Burj Khalifa and the beautiful landscape. The poolside lounge features luxurious drapery, rich adornments and soothing music, turning it into an enchanting ‘1001 Arabian Nights’ atmosphere after sunset. By the pool side is the Ewaan lounge (Traditional Arabian tents)where one can order for a large selection of mezzeh and sheesha.
Spa
The Spa at The Palace Downtown Dubai offers an exclusive retreat for those seeking a relaxing environment to rejuvenate and refresh mind and body. It’s a gorgeous set up. I opted for a 60 minute Organic seaweed leaf wrap treatment priced at AED 775. In this treatment they use the freshest seaweed leaves sourced from the Atlantic, the minerals, vitamins and amino acids work with immediate effect. It helps Detoxify, moisturize and revive our bodies.
Dinner
We had a nice cosy dinner at Thiptara, meaning ‘Magic at the Water’, specializing in Royal Thai cuisine with a special emphasis on Bangkok-style seafood. Surrounded by Burj Lake, the spectacular views of The Dubai Fountain at night transform this contemporary al fresco waterfront restaurant into a truly magical setting. We enjoyed the stunning fountain show and the pleasant dinner with innovative drinks. They have an extensive menu and we enjoyed the veg and non vegetarian options. Chicken Stay, Dumplings & Spring rolls were delicious. By the way they have amazing soups and one must try them. I had the vegetarian version of Tom Yum Goong and it was scrumptious. For dessert my favourite is Khao Neaw Mamueng (the ripe yellow mango with sweet sticky rice topped with coconut icecream.). An A la carte dinner for 2 will cost around AED 400 ++ with drinks.
Thiptara is currently running an offer for Satay Nights where one can enjoy selection of delicious meat skewers priced at AED 120 from 6 pm to 11.30pm and children between 6 to 11 dine at 50% off. Happy Eating!!
So this was all about my Birthday Staycation and it was one of the most beautiful one 🙂
