Casa Mia is one of the oldest and well-known restaurants in town for authentic Italian Food. The restaurant is divided in smoking and non-smoking area with a cosy fine dining set up. I went there for lunch with 2 friends and we simply enjoyed the delicious wholesome meal. Situated in the piazza style Méridien Village, Casa Mia serves home-cooked meals to those craving authentic Italian. Wood-fired pizzas are as popular as the freshly made pastas.
Zuppa Di Fungi Pizza and Penne Arrabbiata were the dishes of my choice and my friends opted for Grilled Vegetables and Grilled Hammour. We all loved the meal and off course we paired it with the right wine. Tiramisu and Panna Cotta served with spicy berry sauce was scrumptious!!!
The good news for all foodies is this summer Resident Chef Maurizio travelled to Tuscany, exploring authentic regional cuisine and suppliers of Organic produce; he has introduced a special menu that will include fresh organic products. These specially created dishes will coincide with Casa Mia’s much anticipated participation in Dubai’s calendar event ‘Italian World Cuisine Summit’. The theme for the Summit this year is ‘authentic home-style cooking infused with organic ingredients’. The hotel have invited Michelin Star Chef, Roberto Franzin to create an A La Carte menu (4 dishes) which will be complemented with the finest grapes from Tenuta L’ Impostino from the Tuscani region in Italy – (2 varieties of red and a white).

Guest Chef Roberto Franzin and Chef Maurzzio will combine their skillful mastery to create the most phenomenal dishes for the palate of the diners. Guests will have the option to choose dishes from the Michelin Star Chef’s Menu as well as the restaurant’s regular menu. During this time, Casa Mia will also house a pop-up Mercato (market) at the Terrace to display and sell organic produce such as seasonal fruits & vegetables, Italian cheeses etc
Shortly after the Italian World Cuisine Summit, Casa Mia will throw open celebrations for their 22nd anniversary on November 10th (7:30PM to 11PM) with a 5-course dinner paired with a selection of the best Italian grapes for AED 480 nett per person . Italian cuisine enthusiasts will be in for an additional treat as food writer – Maurizzo Pelli will be signing the cookbook and giving away a gift basket with several ingredients used in the recipes.
