Asha’s is a contemporary fine dining Indian restaurant; in the name of the legendary Indian singer “Asha Bhosle”. I have heard mixed reviews about the restaurant but I liked it. The food taste is catering to multiple nationalities and if you are expecting it to be with the extra “tadka” you might not like it. The ambiance and setting is beautiful with good service.
We started with some Bar snacks : Assorted Kebab Platter is a good choice from this menu ( it includes murg malai, chicken tikka and gosht seekh kebab). My partner loved the kebab platter and I opted for Vegetarian Platter with mushroom kurkure, paneer ka soola and vegetable seekh kebabs. In starters I did not like the paneer much as it wasn’t as soft as it should be.
I would like to recommend a few cocktails that were different. Aged Pisco Punch(Dry fruits are aged in ceramic jars for two weeks to make this punch; Served topped with spiced rum and side of infused fruits). Another good one is Lychee, Raspberry and Chilli (Absolute Blue Vodka and Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur shaken with fresh raspberries and lychee, balanced with a touch of lemon and chili) and Tamarind Tiger (Spiced rum muddled with lime and tamarind, sweetened with brown sugar ). If you are a Champagne fan you can opt for some Champagne based cocktails : Fraise Royale is a good choice (Strawberry liqueur and strawberry purée lengthened with champagne). They also have shooters, wines, mocktails etc in the menu.
As usual I was pretty full by the time I reached the main course. Still I ordered for my favorite Dal Makhani that was really good and also Subz Kehkesha with Tandoori Roti. My husband ordered for Kesar Biryani (boneless lamb biryani with rice saffron flavour) served with raitha. All the dishes were good and we had to pack for home as well as the portion size was good and a family of 4 can share easily.
Right now they are running a special promotional menu called “coastal voyage”; that serves from Kerala chilly garlic prawns to dakshin salmon tikka and many more dishes.
