We need to take regular breaks from our busy schedule, indulge in relaxation and spend quality time with family. I spent one such weekend with my family at Beach Rotana-Abu Dhabi where sun, sand, spa, shopping & food come in a package. Arabian hospitality and the breathtaking affluence of modern luxury come alive as one enters the hotel lobby where musicians are playing in the lounge café. You are welcomed by the well groomed staff and are directed to one of the 565 rooms of this awe-inspiring Hotel.
We were lucky to get upgraded to the Royal Suite that is located on the top floor of the hotel featuring elegantly furnished bedrooms, spacious living /dining rooms, Jacuzzi bath, swish sofas. The suite has two private balconies overlooking the clear blue waters of the Gulf. It was a wonderful experience and I was completely flabbergasted.
The hotel has 11 world-class restaurants like Rodeo Grill: Fine steaks and grill, Benihana: American Japanese Food, Prego’s: Italian Cuisine. It takes care of the Tourists and expats living in the UAE from different corners of the world as one can choose what suits your palate. We explored “Indigo” and “Essence” during our stay.
Indigo is a Modern Indian Restaurant with an avant garde approach on North Indian cuisine, yet offering choices for the traditional palette. While we were at the Hotel, Indigo was running a promotion with Chef Qureshi called the Qureshi Compass Cuisine. The menu featured a superb variation called the Purab Paschim(East West) and Uttar Dakshin (North South)that had dishes like Dabeli from the Kutch region, Murgh yakhni shorba from Kashmir, Kacchi mirch ka korma from Lucknow, Mawa kachori from Rajasthan, Lamb Shaami kebab from North India and more. We loved each and every dish; the food was simply delectable. I had a brief chat with Chef Ashfaque Qureshi and he mentioned he will coming over again to Beach Rotana and other places in Dubai with more unique promotions. Chef Nitin Raheja and Shipra the Manager at Indigo are very sweet and they took good care of each and every guest.
The contemporary favourites on the menu are Biryani, kebabs and chaat. I highly recommend that you try the scrummy kulfi at Indigo.
Essence is an all-day dining, international restaurant which serves a large variety of dishes from around the globe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved the Friday Brunch: great variety of cuisines and beautiful ambience with a live band playing while you enjoy the food. The restaurant has various live cooking stations which include an indoor bakery, a Tandoor oven and stations on which sushi and mouth-watering salads such as Fattoush, Tabouleh and Caesar salad will be prepared right in front of your eyes. Chef John and Ganesh made sure we had a good time. I spoke to the Chef and he mentioned that Essence is doing an amazing set up for Ramadan combining the spirit of Arabia and a subtle, modern touch serving Arabic delights from sunset followed by sumptuous Suhour. Iftar Buffet would be around AED 195 including unlimited Arabic juices, soft drinks and water and Diners will receive a 25% discount during the first 5 days of Ramadan. Well it’s a great deal. I will visit them again during Ramadan.
Spa Any staycation for me is incomplete without a good relaxing hour at the Spa. Beach Rotana is equipped with Zen the Spa which comprises of 10 Treatment Rooms, 2 Tranquility Suites and Relaxation areas. Treatments being available, includes relaxation, body, facial, hand, foot and massages. Aromatherapy massage is my all-time favorite. I absolutely loved the treatment. Cost is AED 400 for 60 mins.
The hotel has enough space for recreation with the exclusive private Beach Club, Fitness & Wellness Clubs. Beach club is open to all the guests staying at the hotel and given access to private beach, bay view restaurant , beach bars, kids play area and temperature controlled main swimming pool and kids pool.
So what do you think readers! Isn’t it a wonderful Weekend Retreat? I would certainly recommend Beach Rotana-Abu Dhabi for a much needed getaway!
