For all those who love the rich and lively city of London, there is first of its kind gastro pub – Reform Social & Grill now in Dubai that celebrates the spirit of the grand British metropolis. It’s a great place for lunch/brunch with family or an evening out with friends and offers a whole lifestyle experience; restaurant, lively bar, coffee shop, ice cream parlour, children’s play area, cinema, private event space and plenty more.
Located at the Lakes, Emirates Living District, it offers from a healthy breakfast menu to an authentic gastropub lunch/ dinner experience. The Head Chef at Reform Social & Grill Ryan Waddell brings with him a career built on creating some truly classic Best of British menus in the UK. The young Chef most recently won acclaim for his work at The Canbury Arms and The Hoxton Grill – two classic British venues in London that are renowned for superb food and drink. Now in Dubai, Ryan intends to make his mark on the city’s culinary scene by taking the Reform favorites from London and then giving them a light, bright twist.
The menu features starters, salads as well fresh fish – from treacle cured salmon to fish pie and catch of the day. Reform also serves mouthwatering desserts from Tart, Cheesecake, Sorbets, Ice-creams to yummy puddings and unusual British cheeses in the menu.
I enjoyed the Pearl Barley Risotto while my partner loved the Rump of Australian Lamb. Both the dishes were great. For vegetarians there are not many choices unless you want to indulge in the scrumptious desserts and wine/cocktail menu .Even the names of some cocktails are interesting like the PanKiller: a rum based drink a specialty from the British Virgin Island. Another one is Queens Mary which is named to celebrate the first ship to deliver the blueberries to the UK from Canada. When you visit do check out the full menu of cocktails and you will discover more unique names and mixes even for non-alcoholics.
For dessert we ordered for Sticky Toffee Pudding that comes with warm custard, it’s simply delicious. My son Nirvaan loved it. Also you must try the famous Ice-cream Sundae, its heavy so make sure you keep enough space for it.
