I have recently been to Sharjah and was amazed to see the quaint emirate going through a rapid transformation and yet maintaining its rich culture and heritage.
For people who like indulging in serenity and solitude, there are some wonderful places in Sharjah to visit. One can see the largest museums, gold souks and pass through the Al Majaz Waterfont that has an amazing play area for kids with a colorful musical fountain for company in the evening amidst some branded restaurants overlooking the lagoon.
I happened to visit the stylish “Sharjah Centro Rotana”, conveniently located near the Sharjah Airport. It looked to me as a perfect get away as one could spend the whole day relaxing by the fantastic pool area, or have coffee at one of the coffee shop or enjoy a romantic candle light dinner. It is also economical for business travelers visiting UAE as they can enjoy the best of services at low rates and the hotel also provides shuttle services to major malls in Dubai.
The pool is clean and for kids there is a nice lawn where they can enjoy when the sun is gentle.
I enjoyed a hot cup of coffee at C.Deli a 24 hour open delicatessen that has the perfect synthesis between a take away and fast food joint with both indoor and alfresco seating. The menu has a wide offering of salads, sandwiches, bakery items and desserts.
We had our food at the All-day dining restaurant called C.Taste; orchestrating special theme nights where one can savor international cuisine. From Italian Night on Sunday to Seafood night on Thursday the buffet costs from AED 99 per person to AED 125. I liked the food & the service. One thing you must not miss at Centro Rotana is “Umm Ali” the best ever Arabic dessert.
So just in case you happen to pass by Sharjah, do visit this wonderful hotel and tell me your views on it.

The Rotana looks really good! Thanks for reviewing it. I’ll definitely have it in mind for my next trip to the UAE!
