Café Belge in the heart of DIFC at The Ritz-Carlton

I am a huge fan of Belgian café and “Café Belge” is one of the places that I really love. It’s a vivacious café and bar with indoor and outdoor sitting with its design and gourmet roots proudly set in 1920s Brussels, celebrating the grand style and elegance of a golden era.

Belgian food, beer and the service complemented by Belgian warmth is how I define this café.

I recently tried the new A la Carte Menu while my friend opted for the Business lunch, the menu of the same changes every day and priced at AED 100 for two courses, including soft beverages and coffee/tea, or AED 120 for three courses with dessert.

I had the Vegetable Tartine with Boursin cheese and mixed raw, roasted and pickled vegetables (yummy) and my friend  had Shrimp Cromesquis and Hot smoked salmon and she couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. We couldn’t miss Dame Blanche: Vanilla Ice Cream with Warm Belgian Chocolate and Fresh Cream. Truly succulent!!!Those with a sweet tooth can also indulge in a selection of desserts such as the Belgian Chocolate Mousse with chocolate brownie cubes, and Cramique d’Grand Père (sugar brioche bread pudding) with vanilla raisin ice cream.

My favourite drinks from the menu are Strawberry Smile and White Mist.

Next I am heading to Café Belge for the Friday Brunch, where food is served to the table with guests enjoying a decadent stream of classic Belgian hors d’oeuvres, main courses and desserts. In addition to the elegant Art Deco and Art Nouveau style décor, the 1920s flair is provided via live saxophonist Adam Long, playing contemporary jazz alongside DJ Jay Lieutenant. Guests can enjoy brunch inside the restaurant or on the terrace, which due to its low-level positioning and a touch of Café Belge magic, stays cool throughout the year.  Two packages are available: ‘Prohibition’ with soft beverages at AED 295, or ‘Jazz Hands’ with Belgian beers, wine & sparkling for AED 395.

What do you think friends? Will you all join me for Brunch!!!
