I have so much more to write about Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Island. This wonderful trip is engraved now in my mind. For those of you who have read Part 1 of the blog will relate to it quickly.
Want to discover relaxation, local lifestyle or freedom? This place has a blend of it all.
The Island has activities for all age groups. The resort has a Water Sports Center for exploring Kayaking, Jet skiing and other adventures. One can also opt for various lessons during the stay. Since we had very little time on hand we could try only Kayaking and it was great fun surfing through the crystal clear seawater. At the diving center of the resort, one can borrow the snorkeling instruments for free. I tried snorkeling for the first time in life and was flabbergasted with the beauty of the corals. It was a marvelous sight as I was gliding through the waters in a gentle rhythm; the fins were impelling me easily towards the reef’s edge and the corals beneath swaying below in harmony, alive and rich with life. Astonishing!!! I am not a swimmer but the corals and the colourful fishes make you go further down the ocean. It’s safe for a non-swimmer as the water was not very deep. All you need is to concentrate and follow the basics of snorkeling.
The resort has an Infinity-edged lap pool called Reflections. It’s an intimate adults-only retreat centered on the bar’s infinity pool. It’s stunning and you would for sure not want to leave from there. We enjoyed the mesmerizing ambience along with a menu of gourmet light bites and two-for-one happy hour at sunset accompanied by soothing chill-out beats.
One of the evenings of our stay, we took the Dolphin Cruise tour (5-7pm). It’s a scenic Cruise that will take you deep inside the seawaters; urging you to discover the wide magnificent ocean. It’s a lovely relaxation trip for 2 hours, great hospitality again on the Cruise with snacks and unlimited flowing Champagne. Have a look:
With the entire island a sanctuary of natural beauty, there is no need to hide away. One can transcend into nature as you ramble the natural landscape and twisting pebble pathway to revive the inner peace at The Spa. We opted for a Couple Massage Retreat at the spa. The Balinese Massage took the weariness away from our bodies and we were all set to attend the Cocktail Party at the Flavours with live Maldivian Musician and Rosé wine on the house. Here are some pictures:
The evening continued with a candlelit Dinner at “THE TRIO”. Trio is an Oceanside dining with a mix of local ingredients and enticing Mediterranean flavours. Have a look at the yummy food and the restaurant. Simply a beautiful night!!!
Followed by the Dinner we headed to Water Edge for a relaxing drink and live Maldivian entertainment. Every Friday is the Maldivian Night at the Water Edge and all the local staff perform on Maldivian beats. They entertain the guests and pull them up on the stage to dance and have some fun with the locals. We had an entertaining night & danced without any inhibitions As if no one was watching us. We could barely sleep that night and wanted to experience the last sunrise at the resort, as we were about to checkout at noon. I wanted to capture each moment and carry it along and cherish them for life. Well to an extent I was successful but now I am missing the starlit sky, the beach, the soothing waves of sea, the beautiful corals, the divine natural beauty and the amazing hospitality. I will visit the Island again someday for a longer duration of time.
When I travel next to Sun Siyam Iru Fushi I will stay in the Aqua Retreat Water Villa with a Private Infinity pool and access to the sea. Have a look at the pictures 🙂
“As I move around the world, I have learned to live, love and discover myself” I will continue my journey and explore the unexplored. Watch for this space as I continue my voyage.
