Yes there is a Paradise on Earth and I recently witnessed it when I happened to visit Maldives. One does picture Maldives as a beautiful place from the innumerable photos and videos on the internet but they don’t capture the essence of this little piece of heaven. You need to experience it with your own sight. I really am short of words to describe the unbelievable gorgeousness of the country and the Island yet I have so much to share…
Maldives has stunning coral reefs, pristine beaches, blissful gardens, perfect scenery, luxurious food, relaxing spas and water sports. You name it all and it’s there. It is one of the most exclusive destinations in the world and I knew it immediately I was going to like it here. A perfect holiday destination for the beach lovers!!!
Male’ (Maldives) is a 4 hour flight from Dubai (United Arab Emirates); you can fly direct through Emirates or Fly Dubai. We planned to stay at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Island in the North Province of Maldives. From Male it’s a 45 minute scenic seaplane ride. An astounding ride that gives an aerial view of the country and one can witness the best tropical landscapes. From the window of the seaplane you will still wonder if all this really exists? Well the answer is YES it does and I was beholding the sight. The small islands from the window of the seaplane looked like an oasis in a watery desert.
Have a look and I am sure you will agree with me 🙂
As our flight was descending, I could barely contain my excitement. My heart was thumping with anticipation & my expectations were greater than ever. The beauty kept enhancing and finally we arrived at the Gorgeous Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Island.
We were received by the amazing staff (Marlinda & Shahuneez) who took good care of us throughout the trip. They took us straight to the Breakfast at IRU Restaurant. It was great start to the day with a casual buffet Breakfast. The elegant spread ranged from organic fruits, smoothies to hearty English breakfast with freshly baked pastries and more.
Kids Area at the Breakfast Venue
After the lavish Breakfast we checked-in to our room: The Deluxe Beach Villa with a Pool. It was Luxurious!!! It had a Private Jacuzzi, Private Pool and a beachside sala. I relaxed beneath the shade of our beachside sala with a view of ocean that stretches out across the horizon urging you to reconnoiter its colorful depths.
Everybody dissuaded me from taking Nirvaan, my 2-year-old son to Maldives. It’s true that the place is meant for couples and romance is in the air but children can have a blast too. The resort too has provisions to ensure your kids are safe and keep them engaged while you can have some “Me” time at the spa or sea. I am glad I took Nirvaan along as he seemed to have enjoyed the trip thoroughly with lot of toys and entertainment with his nanny Marlita.
Right next to the Kids Club is a family poolside snack bar call “Fluid”. We lazed around there the whole afternoon and tried some scrumptious oven-baked pizza, mocktails and smoothies in a relaxed sunny setting.
The Island has 11 diverse restaurants offering Fresh local flavours – served with tropical flair showcasing the Maldivian culinary arts and traditions.
The first day of our arrival we dined at Flavours, a spectacular overwater restaurant with a swaggering panoramic view across the Indian Ocean. It was a perfect romantic dinner under the moonlit sky with fine wines and mocktails. The food was delicious with the innovative fusion cuisine from Asia created from delectable regional ingredients.
We headed to our beautiful Villa after the delightful Dinner and ended the night by the Private pool and a bottle of champagne.
Well it doesn’t end here …..wait for the next blog for more beautiful highlights.
