CITY SIGHT SEEING-ATHENS
The next day while starting from the Hotel; we saw the City Sightseeing Hop On- Hop Off bus and decided to board it. It was a Double-Decker with an open top & quite reasonable, 22 Euro for 24 hours use. The bus driver provided us with the hands free that one could use to listen to the commentary that was available in 11 languages. It was a good idea to take this bus and learn about Athens history and culture from ancient times to the present. The Tour lasted for about 70 minutes. The frequency of the bus is very good. One can stop at any point and board from the same stop in next half & hour. We first stopped at Piraeus, the main port of Greece and the biggest in Mediterranean, at the main harbor called Marina Zea harbour, it is a very pretty fishing port surrounded by various water front restaurants and bars. We had a lavish lunch at the Cheers! Tavern and Bar. Great service, incredible food and astonishing marina view, one must try the Greek salad here it was delicious. Have a look!!

ACROPOLIS
After a long afternoon at the Marina Zea, we boarded the bus and stopped at the Acropolis. It is located on a high stony outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of architectural and historically significant buildings. We spent a long time at the Acropolis before heading back to Plaka for another relishing dinner, enjoying the music of the Greek local singers.

THE LAST DAY
On the final day at Athens, we started early with the city sightseeing tour and had a great panoramic view of the city. We stopped for a bit at the Temple of Zeus, Constitution square, Former Royal Palace, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Zappion Garden, Prime Minister’s residence, Old and new Parliament and the Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. After this tour, we had lunch at Thisio. This area is very crowded and home -to many cafes and restaurants. The area is known for ancient Agora.
We had the opportunity to eat amazing Indian food at Bollywood Kitchen: an Indian Restaurant. I was craving for Indian food and was relieved to find one. The food was just mind-blowing and so was the service. The staff was very friendly and we became good friends with the manager and the owner. We spent the full evening with them while enjoying the lite Acropolis view from the terrace. It was very sweet of them to drop us back to our hotel in their car.

The next morning I woke up, sadly knowing that this wonderful trip was coming to an end. Bidding Greece Good-Bye we took the bus to the Airport and I promised myself to go there once again in the near future 🙂
